Biography
Commissioner Randy Strauss was elected to the Town Commission in 2018. He was born in the Bronx, New York, and lived in the small oceanside town of Rockaway Beach, Queens. In 1989, he began his practice of law and currently practices in the area of Civil Litigation. Randy has two daughters, Danielle, who currently attends law school, and Rebecca who is currently studying chemical engineering at the University of Florida.
Education
He moved to Coral Springs, Florida in 1973, where he graduated from Coral Springs High School in 1979. Following high school, he attended and graduated from the University of Florida, where, as a member of Florida Blue Key, participated in both student and local government. After graduating, he attended and completed Law School at Nova Southeastern University.
Association & Board Memberships
He has served on the School Advisory Council, representing the school, the community, and those persons closest to the students that shared responsibility for supporting the school’s continuous improvement. Currently, he serves on the Board of the Hundred Club of Broward County, an organization to provide a measure of comfort to the needs of those who daily risk their lives in the service of others. The Club does this by providing direct financial assistance to families of law enforcement officers and fire fighters who have lost their lives or have been permanently disabled in the line of duty in Broward County, Florida.
He also is an associated member of the NFL Alumni Association, participating in the “Caring for Kids” fund raising for local children charities and needs. Randy enjoys his off time, fishing and is a longtime member of the Lighthouse Point Salt Water Sportsman Association and a lifetime member of International Game Fish Association.
