palm club sanitary sewers

The Palm Club neighborhood in Town - located on the west side of State Road A1A  north of Bel Air and south of Terra Mar Island - consisted of about 100 homes using septic tanks. The completed sewer project (see map below) now allows homeowners to abandon their septic tanks after connecting to the Town's sewer system, which is operated by Pompano Beach. Construction was successfully completed in Winter 2022, and as of early 2023, the system is under the City of Pompano Beach's management.

The Palm Club abuts the Intracoastal Waterway and has an interconnecting canal. This project reduces the potential adverse environmental impacts associated with septic tank systems, which are more significant in coastal communities.
