palm club sanitary sewers

The Palm Club neighborhood in Town - located on the west side of State Road A1A  north of Bel Air and south of Terra Mar Island - consists of about 100 homes still using septic tanks. The proposed sewer project (see map below), which is expected to begin this summer, will allow those homeowners to abandon their septic tanks after connecting to the Town's sewer system, which is operated by Pompano Beach. Construction is expected to be completed sometime in 2022.

The Palm Club abuts the Intracoastal Waterway and has an interconnecting canal. This project will reduce the potential adverse environmental impacts associated with septic tank systems, which are more significant in coastal communities.

Palm Club Project Area MapThe Town is seeking grants from the State of Florida and Broward County to help defray the cost of the $3.4 million Capital Improvement Project

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is committed to being a good environmental steward and believes the benefits this project will have on reducing potential pollution discharges to its marine ecosystems is critical to giving these important systems a chance at survival and/or recovery.
