Florida is one of the most popular places in the world to scuba dive. Unlike the Florida Keys, where the reefs are 5 miles offshore and only accessible by boat, the Town's coral reefs are located within 100 yards of the beach. Because of our popularity with divers, the Town is known as Florida's Beach Diving Capital. YouTube Video The Town has a Shipwreck Snorkel Trail off Datura Avenue and is also home to the SS Copenhagen, a British steamship that wrecked off the Town in May 1900. The wreck site is a Florida Underwater Archaeological Preserve and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
