BROWARD SHERIFF'S OFFICE
The professional police
personnel who work for the the Broward Sheriff's Office are responsible
for the enforcement of all municipal and state laws in
the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.
Chief Oscar Llerena provides the
leadership for a staff of almost 30 law enforcement employees,
including 19 sworn deputies, three sergeants, an executive lieutenant and a district chief.
BSO's Lauderdale-By-The-Sea
headquarters is in the Town's Public Safety Complex at 4513 Ocean Drive (just north of Jarvis Hall). The Town operated its own Police Department until March 2001, when it contracted with BSO
to provide hometown police services. The Town renewed its contract with BSO in 2011.
The Broward Sheriff's Office
takes pride in serving the Town with integrity, as well as its close working
relationships with residents, the business community and Town Hall.
