DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

The Town’s Development Services Department is responsible for ensuring the orderly growth of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea through the review of development-related projects, Code Compliance, Planning and Zoning review and the enforcement of Town land use regulations. Code violations can also be reported online at our Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Citizens Access Portal.

The department also provides support to the Planning & Zoning Board and Board of Adjustment.

The Town contracts with C.A.P. Government Inc., a private firm, to provide Building Department services to the Town. A CAP employee processes building permit applications from 9 AM to 4:30 PM in the Development Services Department, which is in the building adjacent to Town Hall. Below are the building permit documents you may need:

- Change of Contractor

- Inspection Request

- Notice of Commencement

- Owner/Builder Affidavit

- Permit Submittal Requirements

- Town Zoning Map

Development Services is also responsible for processing Site Plan applications, Variance requests, Business Tax Receipt applications (occupational licenses), inspecting new businesses, processing engineering right-of-way permits, lien searches and flood zone map information.
