New Town Manager Hired

William Vance has more than 23 years of local government management experience with significant achievements in fiscal management and infrastructure improvements.

Mr. Vance’s most recent position prior to coming to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea was City Manager in Pickerington, Ohio (population 18,500). In Pickerington, he championed economic development efforts, including establishing city grants to help business owners revitalize the historic main street. Under Mr. Vance’s leadership the City also did a comprehensive revamp of its land use and development regulations. While in Pickerington, he managed multiple large construction projects, including a complex street project.

During his five-year tenure as Town Manager in Lady Lake, Florida (population 14,000) he managed the response to two hurricanes and a tornado. In addition, he managed the construction of a wastewater treatment plant and the installation of 21,000 linear feet of water, sewer, and reuse trunk line extensions.

Mr. Vance also served as the Town Manager in Luray, Virginia (population 4,800) for three years, and Town Administrator for the Town of Franklinton, North Carolina (population 2,200) for six years. Mr. Vance holds a Bachelor degree in Political Science/Public Administration from Appalachian State University. He is an ICMA credentialed municipal manager in good standing since 1994.
